Archdiocese of Chicago to Host 11th Annual Fore the Kids Golf Outing Honoring Church Responders to COVID-19

Event to be held on Monday, Aug. 24, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Chicago Highlands Golf Club in Westchester

Chicago - (Aug. 19, 2020) – The Archdiocese of Chicago will host its 11th annual Fore the Kids golf outing at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 24, at Chicago Highlands Golf Club in Westchester, Ill. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Office of Catholic Schools and the archdiocese’s Emergency Tuition Assistance Program, which provides aid to economically challenged students, and innovative academic programs. Fore the Kids has raised more than $550,000 over the last five years for emergency tuition assistance and academic innovations.

“We are incredibly grateful for those who are on the front lines of support during the COVID-19 pandemic,”  said Dr. Jim Rigg, superintendent of Catholic Schools. “The Fore the Kids Golf Tournament will recognize these dedicated caregivers and volunteers while raising funds to support our Catholic schools.”

This year’s Fore the Kids will honor the archdiocese’s church responders: priests who volunteered for its COVID-19 Anointing of the Sick Response Team ministering to COVID-19 patients, and pastors and volunteers who assisted with parish reopening’s. The Kathleen and Bernard Beazley Trust is the primary sponsor for the event.

Guests will be required to adhere to Illinois Department of Public Health mask and social distancing guidelines. While golfer reservations are by invitation-only this year, donations are still being accepted and sponsorship opportunities are still available.
