| CHICAGO (January 10, 2006) The Archdiocese of Chicago is teaming up with Loyola University of Chicago to offer Catholic elementary students, employees, family members and friends discount tickets to the college basketball game pitting the Loyola Ramblers against the University of Detroit Titans on Saturday, January 28, at Loyola’s Gentile Center on the Sheridan Road campus.
In honor of “Catholic School Week,” which begins Sunday, January 29, Chicago Catholic elementary school students will be able to purchase tickets for the game for $1. Employees, family and friends of Chicago Catholic elementary schools can also purchase half-price tickets at $5 each.
Chicago Catholic School Superintendent Dr. Nicholas Wolsonovich will be at the game to present the ceremonial basketball for the “opening tip.” In addition, the choir from Chicago Jesuit Academy , the newest Catholic school in Chicago, will be performing the National Anthem before the game.
