CHICAGO (August 24, 2005) Martha Frauenheim has been named associate superintendent of curriculum and instruction for the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office of Catholic Schools. In this position, she will oversee the development and implementation of curriculum for all Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese, which encompasses Cook and Lake counties.
“With more than 30 years of experience as a Catholic school teacher and administrator, Ms. Frauenheim brings a wealth of knowledge to this position,” noted Nicholas Wolsonovich, Ph.D., Superintendent of Archdiocesan Schools. “Her work in curriculum development will serve the Catholic schools of the Archdiocese very well.”
Frauenheim comes to the Archdiocese from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Dallas, TX, where she has served as principal for the past six years. Prior to that, she was principal at Corpus Christi Catholic Schools in Colorado Springs, and assistant principal for curriculum development at Pauline Memorial Catholic Schools, also in Colorado Springs. Frauheim began her career as a teacher in 1974 at Christ the King Catholic School in Buffalo, NY.
An Oak Park, Ill. native, Frauenheim received a bachelor’s degree from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY. She also earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in educational leadership from the University of Colorado. Frauenheim is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association and several other professional organizations. |
