  ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT HONORS OUTSTANDING CATHOLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS
Major gift to schools to be announced
 
 

WHAT: Nicholas M. Wolsonovich, Ph.D., superintendent of schools, will award 14 Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic elementary and secondary school teachers with thefor Teacher Recognition during a special ceremony Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003.

An announcement involving a major donation to Chicago Catholic schools by
Rev. Andrew M. Greeley will be made at the event.

Francis Cardinal George will join Wolsonovich in honoring the 14 teachers for their accomplishments. Also honored will be one of 12 educators to receive the 2003 Distinguished Principal Award from the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA).

Elementary schools throughout Cook and Lake counties will celebrate Catholic Schools Week Sunday, Jan. 26 – Saturday, Feb. 1. This annual celebration emphasizes the important role that Catholic schools across the country play in providing a value-based education for America’s young people. During the week, schools will participate in a variety of activities focusing on the theme of “Catholic Schools – Making a World of Difference.”
